I was in Ohio South and made it to Regional Camp which at that age is as far as you can go but when you get older they begin hosting holdover camps where select kids from Regional Camp are chosen to stay for an extra week or two and then they pick the National pool from there. It was our first residential soccer camp, but we have done other sleepaway camps. Quality of training was no different than local ODP day camps. ODP - worth it or not? Based on my kids experience, we would go back despite ODP opp. With that being said, would it be worth it for first year eligible kid from a big 5 club to tryout? If your kid is DA you cant do ODP. I have 300.00 invested, including tryouts and Winter training. We were not necessarily seeking ODP opp in going, would be a nice benefit if it happened, but we would still go back regardless.
